The anticipated call came in the Fall of 2000. The site in Corolla was approved after 50 gallons of water were driven north to test the quality of the bagels produced. Rick then entered “Bagel School” (actually on the job training!) in New York. In February of 2001, Rick and Pati loaded a U-Haul truck and moved to the Outer Banks. Lighthouse Bagels opened for business Memorial Day weekend, Rick soon became known far & wide as the “Bagelman”, and the rest is history!
Today we are still serving the same high quality, kettle baked bagels, and Boars Head meats, and Lighthouse Bagels is more popular than ever!]]>
